Dear Parents and Students,

The last fortnight has seen a hive of activity with multiple music soirees, art week, lip-sync battles, house challenges as well as our students applying their learning in a variety of assessments. It was also pleasing to welcome back one of our alumni Yoshi Mori to speak at our last assembly. Yoshi is currently completing a PHD in astrophysics at ARC centre of excellence for all sky astrophysics in 3 Dimensions.

One of the very well-attended music concerts held recently at JMSS is shown below.

Year 12 Trial exams

The second week of the term 3 holidays sees a full week of Year 12 trial exams for all students completing a year 12 subject at JMSS. The intention of these trial exams is to allow students to familiarize themselveswith the conditions, timings and rules inherent in each of the Year 12 subjects they are completing this year.3 hour English exams do take some getting used to and doing trial exams under time pressure will hopefully prepare students for the rigours of the exam period in October and November.

Year 12 Oral and Performance exams

53 JMSS students have VCAA oral and performance assessments in the first 2 weeks of Term 4. Each of these students will have been given an individual exam timetable as well as a navigator booklet that covers the rules governing this assessment. All of these oral and performance exams will be at an independent venue and the location of these venues is on the individual exam timetable.

Enjoy the break!
