Where Are They Now? The Rise and Rise of Rage and Spotty

By Our Feathered Affairs Correspondent

In a heartwarming twist worthy of a series, our former schoolyard celebrities, Rage and Spotty, have officially “flown the coop” and are now living their best lives on a fully-fledged permaculture farm. Yes—our beloved roosters have transitioned from schoolyard strutters to eco-warrior soil engineers.

The daring duo were chauffeured to their new residence by Wally, a friend of the Loke family and self-described poultry enthusiast (unconfirmed, but we’re running with it). Upon arrival, Rage and Spotty were welcomed into a spacious, leafy pen alongside other distinguished rooster retirees—a gentleman’s club of sorts, feathers optional.

Their new job description?   Professional Compost Turners.

The boys now spend their days scratching, raking, clucking and crowing importantly, and converting mushroom compost and leftover food scraps into rich, gloriously crumbly, organic soil—the kind gardeners write poetry about.

In other words, they’ve gone from lunchtime yard duty to sustainability heroes, playing a starring role in nature’s recycling system. No spreadsheets, no bell times, no Year 3s chasing them while yelling, “LOOK! A CHICKEN!”

Just fresh air, enrichment, and purpose.

Victorian Container Deposit Scheme

We are excited to share that our school has joined the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme!  This program encourages everyone to recycle eligible drink containers by collecting and returning them for a 10 cent refund.  Not only does this help to reduce waste and protect our environment, but funds raised will support future student projects and initiatives.

When you return your containers, you can support our school by using our donation ID (C2000069498) or by searching for our school name.
