Golf - Glenelg Division
Last Friday, a group of students visited the Hamilton Golf Course for the Glenelg Division Golf competition. Darcy Potter, Archie Malseed, Gus McCure, Heston Small, Sidney Hawker, Jack Oldfield Mann, Sophie Satchell, Will Satchell and I were all pitted against students from schools in the district to see who would come out on top.
The fairways and greens were in great condition, which was much appreciated by all students. The wind and rain held off for the day, giving us a lovely, sunny day for golf.
The competition started in the morning with groups heading out to their designated hole on the back 9 of the course. Our group started on a large par 5 on the 18th, which is definitely not one of the best holes of golf I’ve played. After some shanks and slices, we made our way through each hole, slowly warming up to some good shots and putts.
Well done to everyone who competed and contributed some good scores. It was great to see everyone having an enjoyable time.
Overall, the day was great, with a couple of hours spent out on the course and chatting with our competitors and helpers around the grounds. A huge thank you to Miss Dixon, who helped run the day and organised the golf team.
