Orientation Day

Today, for 2026 Orientation Day, we welcomed our newest Collegians. Dozens of new students took their first steps into what will be their classes for next year. It was wonderful to welcome them to both the Junior and Senior Schools and see the ways in which they were greeted and cared for today. I was also glad of the chance to speak to new College parents about what we stand for – academic excellence situated in deep care, and surrounded by opportunities – and how we go about things at the school. I look forward to the partnerships with these newest parents growing over the coming years.

I am also looking forward to seeing what our newest Collegians will contribute. In time they will take their place as the students others look up to. They will become our star hockey or cricket players; our entertaining musicians; our academic superstars; or our quiet and kind supporters of others. Seeing the rich possibilities sitting ahead of each new student who joins us is one of the great joys of teaching; it was a great pleasure to welcome them as they began their College journeys today.
