School Review: Celebrating Growth and Setting the Next Direction
The 2025 School Review has now concluded, marking an important milestone for Kurunjang Secondary College. The review provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress, celebrate achievements, and identify the next steps in our improvement journey.
There was much to celebrate. The panel acknowledged the dedication of our staff, the strong sense of community, and the steady improvement in teaching, learning, and student engagement. The process also confirmed what we already knew – our proactive approach to continuous improvement is working. By anticipating areas that need further focus, the College Executive has already positioned leadership structures to drive targeted growth across all areas of the school.
We are pleased to announce our new leadership appointments who will lead this next phase of improvement:
Leading Teachers for Houses: Mr Michael Cristino, Ms Michelle Grabowski, and Ms Allana Procak (with further recruitment currently underway)
Leading Teacher for Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting: Mr Stephen Stellini
Leading Teacher for Transitions & Pathways: Ms Nicole Hardham
Leading Teacher for PLC & Data: Mr Patrick Eldridge
Leading Teacher - Disability & Inclusion: Ms Sarah Gaetano
Learning Specialist for Literacy: Ms Emma Patchett
Learning Specialist for Numeracy: Ms Tracey Martin
Assistant Principal - Instructional Excellence & Pedagogical Impact: Mr Dominic Snape
Assistant Principal - Engagement, Professional Culture & Systems Improvement: Ms Jill Magee
These appointments reflect a deliberate, forward-focused structure designed to strengthen teaching and learning, deepen collaboration, and ensure every student is supported to thrive.
Building Upgrade: A New Era for Kurunjang
We are pleased to share that we are getting closer to the start date for our major building upgrade – a significant investment in modern, purpose-built learning spaces that will enhance the educational experience for our students and staff. The project will mark the beginning of a new era for the college, creating an environment that reflects our vision for high expectations, engagement, and excellence.
Farewell to the Class of 2025
We recently held a heartfelt assembly to farewell our Year 12 students, celebrating the spirit, character, and unity of this remarkable cohort. Their laughter, leadership, and commitment have left a lasting mark on Kurunjang Secondary College.
As our students now begin their VCE exams, we acknowledge the effort, perseverance, and resilience that have brought them to this point. Every late night, every revision session, and every challenge faced along the way has prepared them for what comes next.
We are immensely proud of all they have achieved and the maturity they have shown as young adults ready to take their next steps – whether in further study, trades, training, or employment. On behalf of the entire Kurunjang community, we wish our graduating class every success in their exams and in the exciting pathways ahead.
They will always remain part of the Kurunjang story.
Step Up Program: Starting Strong for 2026
As we celebrate our graduates, our focus also turns to the next chapter for our Year 10 and 11 students. Step Up begins soon, marking the official start of their 2026 academic year. This is an essential opportunity for students to begin early, establish productive routines, and engage fully with their learning.
We strongly encourage every student to be proactive, organised, and focused during Step Up. The effort invested now will create momentum for a successful 2026. Students who embrace the opportunity to start strong will set themselves up for confidence, growth, and achievement in the year ahead.
Kurunjang Secondary College continues to move forward with purpose, driven by a shared belief that every student can succeed when supported by great teaching, clear structures, and a connected community.
Warm regards,
Ms. Aylin Gökmen
College Principal
