Remembrance Day Service

Our School Captains and Flag Captains led a Remembrance Day service for our students and staff. They stood with pride and confidence, even as the rain settled in, and delivered a respectful tribute to the fallen. The flag was lowered to half mast, the Ode was read with great composure, and the school paused for a minute of silence after the Last Post. Their leadership and maturity were clear for all to see and we are very proud of them.

Academic Brilliance

We recently acknowledged the strong academic results achieved by students involved in the LEAP Extension program. These students were recognised at assembly with certificates and medals and their achievements reflect commitment, curiosity and a real love of learning. We congratulate them on their success.

A very special mention goes to Leo who is the first student in Great Ryrie history to obtain a perfect score of 20/20.

Please look at our LEAP page for further information and photographs.

World Kindness Day

On Thursday we recognised World Kindness Day. Students and teachers shared simple acts of kindness, offered positive words to one another and took the time to appreciate the small things that make our school a welcoming place.

It was wonderful to see kindness shown so openly across the day.

Thank you to Kelsie and TeamKids

Thank you to Kelsie from TeamKids who surprised our families this morning with breakfast and coffee for parents and community members. This generous gesture came simply from her wanting to brighten the morning for others.

We are very fortunate to have Kelsie and the TeamKids team as part of our school.

Planning for 2026

We are now finalising class placements and teacher arrangements for 2026. This is an important and complex process that takes many weeks of thoughtful consideration.

Our aim is always to create balanced and supportive classes where every student can learn and thrive.

Prep Transition Begins

Our Prep transition sessions have begun and it has been lovely to welcome our eager new students for 2026. The children entered with excitement and big smiles, ready to take their first steps into school life. We also saw a few tears from parents which is always understandable on these important days.

We look forward to seeing our new Preps again next week and we warmly welcome all Prep families to the Great Ryrie community for 2026.

Have a lovely weekend with your family and friends
