It is hard to believe we are halfway through Term 4!

As we journey through the final term of the school year, we are reminded of the words from Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”

Term 4 is always a time of gratitude, reflection and anticipation. It offers us the chance to pause, give thanks for the year that has been and look forward with hope to what lies ahead.

Over the past few weeks, our community has shared many beautiful moments of faith and celebration. Grandparents and Special Friends Day Mass was a wonderful success, bringing generations together in prayer and joy. It was heartwarming to see our students honouring their loved ones who have guided them with wisdom, love and faith. It was a lovely opportunity for our students to show their special guests their classroom spaces and school and engage in learning activities prior to a shared lunch and celebration. Thank you to all who shared this wonderful occasion with us.

Our Student Leadership Team for 2026 has now been finalised and we congratulate all those who have accepted this call to serve. May the spirit of St Brigid, Bishop Delany and St Augustine, guide them as they lead our community with courage, compassion and integrity.

Our senior students continue to inspire us as they complete their Year 12 exams and prepare for their Graduation Mass and celebration, where we will gather in thanksgiving for their journey through St Augustine’s College. We hold them in our prayers, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide them into the next chapter of their lives.

We also celebrated the Years 9–11 Mass on 30th October, centred on the theme of Sustainability. This Mass invited students to reflect on their role as caretakers of God’s creation and to live out the call from Laudato Si’ to “care for our common home.” Looking ahead, we are excited for the Years 5–8 Community Mass which will embrace the theme of World Kindness Day and the Years F–4 Liturgy on 27th November, celebrating the joy and simplicity of faith through the eyes of our youngest learners.

Our final celebration of the year, the End of Year Liturgy on Wednesday 11th December, will be a time to give thanks for the blessings of 2025 and to farewell another wonderful school year together as a community of faith, hope and love.

We are looking forward to continuing our commitment to outreach and service by actively supporting both the Vinnies and the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project. We ask that, where possible, our students and families bring non-perishable items to assist families and individuals in need. Collection points will soon be available in TAs for students and families to deliver any items they wish to donate to support others in need. We thank you for your support with this.

These acts of generosity remind us of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:40 – “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

As we move closer to the end of the liturgical year and prepare for the Season of Advent, may we take time to slow down and open our hearts to God’s presence among us.

Loving God,
Bless our students, staff and families as we prepare for the Advent season.
May we continue to act with kindness, seek justice and walk humbly with You.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
