On 13th November the Schools Recommendation University offers come out through UAC. Please let me know if you have received an offer and seek assistance with accepting these offers. Please note, that if your offer is with a university in which you already have an accepted offer, you will need to be careful accepting your new offer as this will replace the old one. You can only have one active offer with each university at any one time. So, if you accept a new offer and it is not your preferred course, you will be removing an offer you prefer. TAFE YES Animal Care Program

For the past few weeks, a small group of Year 9 & Year 10 students have been participating in the TAFE YES Animal Care Program up at Narrandera TAFE CLC. Students had a great start with furry visitors and had the real-life experience providing first aid to the actual dogs who travelled all the way from Wagga with the teacher. These were very educational activities such as:

  • Handwashing Challenge – Students rubbed a special “germ” solution on their arms and sang Happy Birthday while scrubbing away, learning the importance of hygiene in animal care.

  • Bandaging Skills – Using cohesive bandages, they practiced wrapping animal paws (well… each other’s arms!) and learned how to care for our furry friends like true professionals.

In the second week students had been excited to meet and work with very special furry friends: Spot, Fred, Trev, Blaze, Tia, and Milo! Students learnt that dog washing is more than just bubbles and wagging tails — it’s a chance to learn about animal hygiene, safe handling, and building trust. Everyone showed care, patience, and professionalism as they scrubbed, rinsed, and pampered these pups. From gentle scrubs to blow dries and soft brushes, it was a day full of learning and love. So far it has been a fantastic mix of learning, laughter, and lots of wagging tails! We can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring. Stay tuned for more updates from our YES Program adventure!

Thank you to Sheridan Scali for all your organisation of this opportunity for our students and to TAFE Teacher Tamara Percival for all your fantastic knowledge with animals.
