Grade One / Two

Class Information

YEAR 1

In Literacy: We will be learning about words with the trigraph ‘dge’ as in ‘bridge’, ‘tch’ as in ‘catch’ and the prefix ‘un’.
In Numeracy: We will be learning about collecting and record categorical data, create one-to-one displays, and compare and discuss the data using frequencies. We will also be learning to give and follow directions to move people and objects within a space.

YEAR 2

In Literacy: We will be learning about words with the suffix ‘es’, ‘dge’ and ‘ge’ and morphographs. We will be revising all our reading and comprehension strategies and working on improving our grammar with speech marks. We will also be introduced to the novel ‘George's Marvellous Medicine’. In writing, we will revise the structure and features of Informative, Descriptive, and Imaginative Texts.
In Numeracy: We are learning about how to solve different mathematical problems using different methods.

SCHOOL HATS

Please ensure that your child has their school hat at school each day and that is clearly labelled with their name on it. If they do not have their hat, they will need to eat and play in a shaded area during break times.
