Here we are halfway through the term!
Now that we have hit March, our Preps are starting to attend school full time. Their teachers have gathered lots of valuable information throughout their interviews which have been conducted on Wednesdays and they are really ready to get into the teaching and learning from what the children know.
Parent teacher conferences have been really well attended over the last two weeks with teachers getting to know their students as learners through listening to parents and finding out how to support students in the classroom.
Kara Bogicevic, our acting leading teacher in Disability Inclusion and Wellbeing, has also completed our term one student support group meetings with parents and teachers of students who have additional supports that are needed within the classroom. It has been amazing to see the level of adjustment that our teachers are putting in place to allow all of their students to participate in their classrooms.
This week I had the pleasure of taking some of our Year 6 students to visit one of our local kindergartens, where they spoke about what there is to look forward to when students come to primary school and the Year 6 students read a picture story book which we left as a gift. We are visiting two other kindergartens over the next week and are inviting them to come and visit us over the remainder of the year to borrow books from the library and play in our playground.
Remember our Colour Run is coming up soon, 13th of March, so make sure your child is registered and that they are collecting funds to support the light and sound fit out in the new gym in preparation for performances towards the end of the year.
