New Faces

Mr Tom Sharkie

I'm excited to be back at Nazareth, as a teacher this time. I've spent more than a decade lingering around university lecture theatres and classrooms as a student and then as a university tutor, before making my way into TAFE teaching, and finally coming back to secondary school as a Food Technology teacher. Coming back to Nazareth has been like coming home - everyone has been so lovely and welcoming. I'm looking forward to a great year ahead!

Ms Teresa Florio

I am very happy to have joined the team at Nazareth College. My first few weeks of teaching at Nazareth has been a positive, yet challenging experience. As a new teacher, navigating my way through the day-to-day demands of teaching has kept me on my toes. However, the amazingly supportive staff and encouraging Nazareth culture has made the transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I have completed a Bachelor of Liberal Arts at Campion College in Sydney and a Masters of Secondary Teaching at ACU. Having graduated mid-way through last year, I taught Term 4 at a public school in Mooroolbark.  At Nazareth, you will find me teaching Year 8 & 10 English and Year 7 & 10 Religion. I love anything active, being outdoors, going to the beach and going for walks. I enjoy reading (when I have time) and being with friends and family. I am very much looking forward to the rest of my journey at Nazareth.

Ms Radna Nadan

My name is Radha Nadan. I am originally from Fiji and my family of four migrated to Australia in 1990.

I have been teaching in a Catholic school since 1991. I joined Catholic Regional College (Lavalla College) in 1991 and taught there for 10 years before  joining St Peter’s College, Cranbourne in 2001.

I stayed at St Peter's College until 2021 and retired from teaching from the College at the end of 2021. I received my 10 year and 20 year service awards from the school and 25 years’ service award from the Diocese of Sale.

My areas of teaching are Mathematics and Science and I have taught Maths and Science at all levels including VCE General Maths, VCE Maths Methods, Units 1 - 4, Specialist Maths, Units 3 & 4, Chemistry Units 1 – 4 and Physics, Units 1 &2.

I have joined Nazareth College after two years of casual teaching because my passion for teaching is not over yet. I am teaching Maths at Year 8 and 9 levels.

My hobbies are reading books, gardening, sewing, walking and travelling.  I also love to spend some time with my grandkids.

Mr Brendan Newcomb

I am Brendan Newcomb and I have been teaching for 14 years with most of my teaching time spent at John Paul College.

Teaching is a very rewarding career and a big part of my teaching philosophy is to 'have a go and do your best'. I have a passion for fostering the holistic development of young minds, guiding students toward realizing their full potential. Empowering them to recognize the rewards of perseverance and hard work.

Teaching Physical Education, Health and Science I do my best to inspire in my students a love for physical activity, wellbeing and the world around them.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy living an active lifestyle that mirrors my enthusiasm for sports and fitness. An avid supporter of the Mighty Hawks, I enjoy playing in golfing, cycling, and various recreational activities.

And most of all I love a good ‘dad’ joke!

Why do bees have sticky hair? Because they use honey combs!

Before I was a teacher I worked in Corporate Health and also worked overseas at Summer Camps in the USA.

I am very excited to be joining the Nazareth community.
