ACE FOUNDATION – GLASSES PROGRAM

The ACE Foundation was established by Chair,

Dr Leon Shapero, in 2014.

The ACE Vision is to assist students of any age in the City of Casey who are experiencing significant challenges in their educational pursuits.

One of the ACE Foundation initiatives is to provide FREE eye testing and provision of FREE glasses for all public students with vision impairment in the City of Casey.

If you have a current Health Care Card, and feel your child may need assistance, please contact Tracey Logonder at Hampton Park Secondary College on 8795 9400 for further information.

The Australian Dental Health Service will be visiting HP in August.

In August, the Year 7 and year 10 vaccinations will take place at HP, run by the Casey Council Vaccination Team.

Please read the information about the vaccinations and why they are so important for your child, your family and your community.

Permission forms will be sent out early next week to all parents of year 10 students.

Year 7 students would have received a permission form in their enrolment pack and returned it to the school.

If you didn’t get one of these forms, or forgot to complete it, there will be more forms available at the front desk.

Kaye Walker (Health Promotion Nurse) & Theresa Avice (Mental Health Practitioner) have run a group for female Year 7 students during Term 2.  The program aims to support students with understanding healthy life choices, learning stress management techniques and a greater understanding of healthy eating practices and body image to increase self-confidence and self- esteem.

We all had a great time learning together each week and are confident in each participant being able to use the things they have learnt moving forward.

Kaye Walker (Health Promotion Nurse) has had the opportunity to run some classes in Year 8 Health with the Year 8 Health teachers.  Students have been learning about healthy relationships and foundation sexual health concepts as per the Victorian Curriculum.  It was a lot of fun meeting the Year 8’s and learning together!
