Dear Parents and Carers,
This is Week 6 of Term One with only three weeks remaining at the end of this week. We have lots to celebrate and we also have much to look forward to.
It has been wonderful to walk through the classrooms and see our calm and settled children engaged in learning opportunities. It is also fantastic to walk through the playground and see children happily playing together.
You may have noticed some additional play equipment for the children such as, some new bat tennis nets for Year 1-Year 6 in the playground and in the following weeks, some passive games in tubs will be purchased for under the shelter shed.
The additional games (both passive and active) have come about from suggestions from our SRC students who have asked their class friends for ideas and suggestions for new equipment. Listening to student voices is a powerful way for teachers and school leaders to listen to the perspective of the learner and their needs and interests.
Yesterday, the Year Five/Six students and 2024 Foundation families and students gathered at 11:00 am mass to celebrate mass together. The Buddy Mass was an opportunity to formally introduce the Foundation families to the Year Five/Six families as part of our Buddy Program.
The purpose of a Buddy Program is to support a smooth transition for children starting school. The program benefits the older buddy in acknowledging their leadership, responsibility and pride in their ability to be helpful.
The goal of the Buddy Program is to develop relationships between the younger and older children, enhancing the sense of belonging to a friendly, supportive school community.
Yesterday also marked the completion of the Foundation transition program, which began last year in October, with the beautiful Parent Spiritual evening facilitated by Maria Forde and a transition program that gave the incoming students four school experience sessions, before formally beginning school in 2024.
Yesterday the 2024 Foundation students were presented with a Buddy Bear which had a written promise from their Year six buddy to always care for them and watch out for them. Some children were unable to attend but they were presented with their bear this morning at our Monday morning assembly.
Thank you to all the families that attended and to Mrs Gasbarro for the liturgy, Mrs Wenkowski, Ms Alex and Ms Marsico for their organisation and making this a memorable occasion for your children.
School tours for Foundation 2025 have begun. I have been taking personal tours and it’s fantastic to be able to showcase our beautiful learning spaces and facilities that St Fidelis has to offer. Sibling Enrolments for 2025

We have a high sibling intake in 2025 however, we may have missed some, so please ensure you enrol before the end of March to secure your enrolment for 2025.
