Middle School

3/4 LP & 3/4 JS

IN OUR CLASSROOMS

With NAPLAN coming up, we have been doing a lot of practice to prepare students for the tests.

In our Writing sessions we have been focusing specifically on Narrative and Persuasive genres; unpacking the structure and elements of both genres and writing under test conditions.

In our Maths sessions we have done a lot of work on worded problems, specifically learning to break worded problems down into manageable chunks, so that we know what numbers we're working with, which of the four operations we need to use and the question we're being asked to answer. We have also been paying close attention to Maths vocabulary.

INDIGENOUS ART INCURSION

Last week the school was fortunate to have a visit from Samantha Richards who came to share some of her culture with us. Students were really interested to hear about how First Nations People were the original astronomers and used the stars to inform navigation and predict the weather.

HOUSE ATHLETICS

The weather really turned it on for us last week and we had a beautiful, sunny day for our House Athletics. It was great to see students (and teachers) getting into the school spirit and wearing their house colours with pride. We are very proud of the enthusiasm and effort our 3/4's displayed on the day - well done everyone!
