Library News

Welcome to the Library 2024!

Welcome to the Library for 2024! This year we have six wonderful Junior Librarians who are full of knowledge about our Library space and ready to help students in any way they can.

The Junior Librarians are Max Knight, Thomas Martin, Katrina Martin, Audrey Walshe, Darius Wortley and Macey Braithwaite. They have already been busy running a variety of lunchtime activities and are looking forward to a busy year in their new role!

The Library Is Open

This year the library is open before school (from 8:30am) and during morning tea and lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, return and borrow books or just read! Please remember, students do not have to wait for their library lessons to change their books. They can borrow whenever the library is open, provided they have returned current loans and have a library bag!

Library Lovers Month

This month is Library Lovers Month! To celebrate, Mrs Byron has created a ‘blind book borrowing’ opportunity for our students. To participate, students just need to bring in their library bag.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

26th February until 26th August 2024

The 2024 Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is about to start!

The PRC encourages a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and enables them to experience quality literature. The challenge encourages students to read, to read more and read more widely.

Kindergarten to Year 2 read 30 books with parents assistance if required. Year 3 to 6 must read 20 books. This year students can read up to 10 personal choice books, the remainder need to be from the PRC booklist.

An email will be sent with a link to fill in a registration form if you would like your child to be involved (challenge is optional). Please fill this in as soon as possible.

As always, any questions please ask!

Happy reading,

Mrs Fletcher
