Foundation

Welcome to 2025
Wow it's been a very busy but exciting start to Foundation in 2025. We have enjoyed meeting all of our students and welcoming our families into our new Foundation classrooms for the year. Starting school can be a very overwhelming time for little people, and we have been so impressed with the resilience that our smallest HEPS students have shown so far.
In the first two weeks of school, we have had a big focus on establishing routines, getting to know each other and learning all about the school values. We have been practising working together and learning all about where things belong in our classrooms. The students have also been learning all about the expectations of school, our school values and how to do the best that they can when faced with tricky problems. We are also encouraging our students to develop their independence by putting away their belongings, getting out their things in preparation for the day and packing things up at the end of the day. Next week it would be fantastic to see all of the Foundation students carrying their own bags into the classroom.
It's been a long, hot week of new learning and making new friends. We are all looking forward to a celebration BBQ on Friday and inviting our families into the classrooms at 3pm on the same day. Just a reminder that the students will need to bring along morning tea on Friday and lunch if they don't want to eat a sausage in bread from our BBQ. Please let your child's teacher know if they require a gluten free or vegetarian option.
If you have not yet brought in a box of tissues, a packet of wipes and a named roll on sunscreen, can you please do so as soon as possible.
