Year 10 Work Experience | Action Required Over Summer

Dear Year 10 Students and Parents/Carers

As part of the Year 10 curriculum at Frankston High School, it is a compulsory requirement for all students to complete a Work Experience placement. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a field of interest, explore potential career paths, and develop valuable workplace skills.

The Work Experience program will take place during the final week of Term 2, 2025. However, there is significant preparation required to ensure all students meet the legal and logistical requirements for participation.

To get started, we encourage students to begin considering industries or fields they are interested in. Over the summer holidays, students must contact potential employers and explore opportunities for placements.

Students and parents are encouraged to visit the FHS Work Experience 2025 page to familiarise themselves with how to find a suitable work experience placement. The page provides helpful resources, tips, and guidelines to assist in securing a placement. Also attached below is the 'Work Experience 2025 PACK,' which includes detailed information about the program, key dates, and required documentation. We recommend reading through it carefully to ensure you are fully prepared.

To incentivise early submissions, students who submit all required forms by Week 2 of Term 1 will be entered into a raffle draw for a chance to win a gift voucher. Please note that Work Experience forms, signed by students, parents/carers, and the employer, are due by 28 March at the very latest. It is essential to meet this deadline to allow time for processing and compliance checks.
