Molly Flanders achieved a perfect score of 50 in English! Congratulations to Molly and her teacher Mr Peter Pidduck, supported by our Year 12 English team and all of our English teachers!

 

Jen Charlton achieved a perfect score of 50 in Art Creative Practice! Congratulations to Jen and her teacher Birra-li Ward, supported by our Arts team

 

Angelique Psegiannakis achieved a perfect score of 50 in Philosophy! Congratulations to Angelique and her teachers Mr Jon Christie and Mr Michael Simmons, supported by our Humanities team!  

 

46 students received an ATAR above 90. 

3 perfect study scores of 50 (as above)

40+ scores = 9.56% of students

19% of scores over 90 = top 10% of the state.

38% of scores over 80 = top 20% of the state. 

58% of scores over 70 = top 30% of the state. 

 

Median study score = 31

Best Fest

Thank you to the tremendous efforts of our staff on the Best Fest Steering Committee to plan and organise this extraordinary event on Friday 22 November: Mr Jon Christie, Mrs Jessica Bambridge, Ms Leah Hannas, Mrs Carolyn Florance, Ms Joanna Beck, Ms Alarna Summers, Ms Victoria Stewart, Mr Ben Braithwaite, Mr Matthew Cara, Mr Paul Varney, Mrs Deb Bretherton and Mr Glenn Davey. It was a truly wonderful celebration of 100 years of Frankston High School!! Thank you to everyone who played a role leading up to or on the day, and to those staff who attended! We are so proud of how this team has worked together to plan and pull off a hugely popular Best Fest. Feedback from our students, staff, parents, and visitors has been so positive. Well done Frankston High School!!!! 

Early Commencement

It has been great to see so many excited students with the beginning of our Early Commencement program which allows students to meet most of their teachers for 2025 and to experience their new subjects. The work covered during this time becomes part of their assessment for Semester 1 next year. 

2025 Year 7 – Information Evening and Orientation Day 

We held our 2025 Year 7 Information Evening on Tuesday 26 November to a full audience of families whose children are joining us in Year 7 next year, followed by Orientation Day on Tuesday 10 December. Thank you to Ms Samantha Cody, Mr John Simon, Ms Catherine Kyriakos, Ms Natalie D’Ambra, Mrs Sharee Dew and the Junior Sub-School Team for their efforts organising these events.

Great Victoria Bike Ride

A team of 23 students and three staff, Mr Mal Burt, Ms Cheryl Hodgson, and Ms Ginger Parker undertook the 2024 Great Victoria Bike Ride of 482 kilometres (approximately 70km per day) from Wodonga to Healesville from 23 November to 1 December. Thank you to Ms Tiff Greenhill for also participating for part of the ride!

Art/Design/Media and STEAM Exhibition

We held the official opening of the 2025 Art Exhibition on Monday 18 November to a huge audience. The variety and standard of works on display by our students from Years 7 to 12 was incredible. Well done to Ms Birra-li Ward and Ms Lily Donovan for organising and overseeing this, supported by our talented staff across Art/Design/Media and STEAM. Thank you to the Facilities Team for their support of setup of the exhibition (which ran until 20 November), along with Mr John Simon and the staff members who helped out.

Portsea Lifesaving Camp

Thank you to Ms Georgia Tierney and Mr James Cameron for organising and leading our Lifesaving Camp at Portsea this week. Thank you also to the following staff who are attending: Mr Adam Martin, Ms Emily Blaak, Ms Kylie Grech, Ms Luisa Harrasser, Ms Lorelei Tildesley, Mr Jai Block, Mr Dylan Garrett and Mr Rowan Cameron. We are excited for the students/lifesavers who completed their qualifications to begin or continue their patrolling experience at Portsea Back Beach throughout the summer. 

Year 12 Valedictory

We held a wonderful Year 12 Valedictory on Wednesday 20 November in the Palladium Room at Crown. It was fantastic to see a huge number of students there with their families enjoying the night celebrating the Class of 2024! Thank you to Ms Tiffany Greenhill, Ms Kelly Mitchell, Ms Kate Burgess, Mr Jack Barbour, Ms Brittany Harvey, Mr Alex Trickovic, Ms Carla Caminiti, Ms Kerryn Elrick, Ms Leanne Milne, Ms Carolyn McIver, Ms Tina Thomas, Mrs Jess Bambridge, Mrs Sharon Bourne, Ms Claudia Tymms, Ms Mel Donegan, Ms Kelly Lin, Mrs Sharon Koning and Mr Cameron Heyes for their efforts and support in overseeing the development of these students. Thank you to ALL of our amazing teachers who have taught these students this year and throughout their time at Frankston High School.  

Sports Presentation Event

On Friday 29 November (during the day) we held our 2024 Sports Presentation event, recognising all of our students who have achieved such sporting success this year. Thank you to Mr Luke Rowe, Mrs Jodie Burton, and Mrs Kylie Grech for organising this event, and thank you to all of our staff who coached these students to such success.  

 

 

 

 

Presentation Night

We held our 2024 Presentation Night on Wednesday 11 December which was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate some of the wonderful achievements of our students this year. Thank you to Ms Tiffany Greenhill for all her efforts organising this celebration of our year, supported by a fantastic team of staff. 

 

 

What a term it has been! To each and every student and staff member of Frankston High School, I sincerely thank you for everything you have done during this term and our centenary year. I am so very proud to work with each and every one of you. I wish you all a relaxing and safe holidays, an enjoyable Christmas period, and look forward to seeing everyone in 2025.
