LEAD Christmas visit to local Kindergarten

On Thursday 14 November, the 2024 Lead Class had the amazing privilege to go to the Delacombe Community Kindergarten. We all wore Christmas hats and had planned Christmas activities to keep the children entertained for the morning. When arriving we had a lovely welcome and greeted by all the children running up to the fences waving at us waiting for us to go inside. When inside, we explained who we were and what we were going to be doing with them, we had activities like Christmas colouring, writing Santa letters, playdough, making reindeer food and we even had Christmas carols run by the students and even got the kids to join in singing with us. The kids had an amazing time running around, playing with us and it was hard to leave. While visiting the kindergarten we gained confidence in talking to others and we made connections between the younger generation. It’s nice to see how they look up to us as older individuals! Overall, the LEAD Class had a wonderful time at the kindergarten, and we thank the teachers for making these opportunities possible. Amber Howes, Year 9 LEAD

Our Christmas themed visit to the local kindergarten was full of Christmas Joy.
A whole heap of jubilant kids excited to hear and get involved in Santa’s upcoming visit really highlighted the importance of the Christmas spirit.
During my time at the kindergarten, I was fortunate enough to work with the children in creating reindeer food for Santa’s special reindeers. We had a line of children all including one another by sharing and politely asking for the magical ingredients.
We had confetti, sprinkles, oats, the whole lot.
The learning of how crucial it is for us to keep community-spirit alive, is what I took away from this visit. The importance of social connection, and how it can positively shape the lives of all people. Zain Bahar, Year 9 LEAD
