2024 Wrap Up

Despite a late start to the Junior School Council (JSC) this year, we’ve made remarkable progress in fostering student leadership at EHPS. Our dedicated JSC members have worked hard to make a positive impact on our school and the broader community. Here are some of the highlights from the year:

Shaping Our School Values

One of the significant achievements of the JSC this year was our involvement in refining the Essex Heights Primary School Values. Through thoughtful discussions and student feedback, we contributed to shaping values that reflect the spirit and culture of our school community. This was a great opportunity for JSC members to showcase their ability to collaborate and lead meaningful change.

Food For Families Campaign

Our biggest project this year was the Food For Families Campaign. With the incredible support of the Essex Heights community, we collected an outstanding amount of food donations to support families in need. The success of this initiative demonstrated our students' compassion and organizational skills. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this project a huge success!

Message from our JSC Captains

“Before, I thought JSC would just be hard work and no fun. But when I tried to be vice for this year, it has been my best experience. My favourite one was helping for Food For Families.”   Ehan H, Vice Captain

“JSC has been great this year as I collaborate with my peers and creating new and fun events for the school.”    Richard W, Vice Captain

“Being part of the Junior School Council has been fun, and we have contributed and done many things such as Food For Families. During Food For Families, we helped raise non-perishable food and items for people that need it. JSC is an amazing experience for my fellow students from grade three to six. I enjoyed the meetings and being able to make a positive impact.”   Nick N, Vice Captain

Looking Ahead

As the year comes to an end, we’re proud of everything the JSC has accomplished and look forward to seeing what next year’s team will achieve. Thank you to all our JSC members for their hard work and to the Essex Heights community for your ongoing support!
