Important Reminders

Special General Meeting on 8th December @ 12.30pm while swimmers do dryland at the RSC Twilight Sprint Meet
Swimming Victoria have updated their model rules for Incorporated Swimming Clubs which form our constitution. To remain compliant with Swimming Victoria and Swimming Australia, we need to vote to update our constitution with the new template. To do this, a Special General Meeting needs to be held. This is similar to an AGM in that we will need at least 10% of our membership over the age of 18 to participate and vote in order to have a quorum.
This Special General Meeting will now be held this Sunday at our Sprint Meet. Parents - while the swimmers are doing dry land, we will hold the meeting. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes.
The current and proposed amended Constitutions are attached below.
Last day of term 4 and training breaks
Please note that the last day of training for term 4 is Saturday, Dec 21st. Please check your swimmer's squad below for training break dates:
Active/Adult/Novice/Blue/Bronze/Silver/Gold - Dec 21 - Jan 27 (first day of 2025 training will be Tuesday, Jan 28th)
Platinum/Platinum Junior Talent/State Target/Junior State/State Performance/National Target/National/Masters: Dec 22 - Jan 2 (first day of holiday training will be Thursday, Jan 2)
**Coach Brendan will be running Skills and Technique clinics in Jan 2025. Stay tuned for dates and more details soon!
Coaching and access fees during the holidays/training breaks
Coaching fees: will continue to be charged every fortnight, even during the school holidays when your swimmer is not training. Because Maroondah Leisure cannot start and stop fees at the beginning and end of each term, we take the total amount for the 40/48 weeks of training and average it out across 52 weeks/26 fortnights. This means you will pay coaching fees every fortnight, even when your kids are not swimming, but the overall price is the same. Please note that coaching fees can only be suspended with a medical certificate, not for family holidays, etc.
Access fees: if your swimmer has a Swim Plus or Fitness Plus Teen membership, you can suspend it for any period of time that you will be away over the holidays. You can put a 'freeze' in place via the online client portal or you can visit reception.
Join our RSC Private Facebook Group
We have created a new private Facebook group for parents/RSC members to maintain better control over ensuring only current members are part of the group. You can request to join using the following link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3786057805009504/ OR by searching for 'RSC Parent Group' on Facebook.
There are 3 security questions you will need to answer to be approved and given access:
- I am a current parent of a Ringwood Swimming Club Swimmer? Yes/No
- Please tell us the name of the squad your eldest swimmer is in?
- I agree to be courteous and kind when commenting on any posts on this page and I agree to only post things relevant to Ringwood Swimming Club? Yes/No
*Please be sure to answer all 3 questions in order to be added to the group.
We will be deactivating the previous parent group called 'Ringwood Swimming Club Members and Parents' in the near future. If everyone could leave this group that would be great. Just go the Facebook page and click on the down arrow on the button "joined" and you can choose to leave the group.
Our public Facebook and Instagram socials will continue as normal. If you aren't already following us, here are our handles:
