Principal Intern

Introducing our Principal Intern, Bart Oswald

Bart is undertaking a Principal Internship until the end of the term here at Gisborne Secondary College, where he is shadowing Principal Sarah Rose. Bart is an Assistant Principal at Mickleham Secondary College, a new school that opened to year 7s this year in the Hume-Merribek region.

Bart's internship is part of the Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation program, which is a unique opportunity for aspiring principals to develop their professional knowledge, capabilities, and confidence to lead for learning in ways that significantly impact on students and outcomes, collective efficacy, and schoolwide improvement.

During his internship, Bart will be involved in a variety of activities, including:

• Shadowing the Principal and Assistant Principals
• Participating in school leadership meetings
• Working with teachers and students
• Developing a project to support the school’s improvement initiatives

Bart is excited to learn from the experienced leaders at Gisborne Secondary College and to contribute to the school's continued success. He is also looking forward to meeting and getting to know the staff, students and greater community.
