Wear it Purple Day

On Friday 25th of August the College celebrated “WEAR IT PURPLE DAY”.  Supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community. 

Every year there is a different theme for this day with 2023’s theme being “Write your Story”.  To celebrate this day the Diversity Captain Charlotte L in conjunction with both the Pride Crew and Wellbeing team, hosted a fundraising event. This included a casual clothes day wearing something purple and a stall at lunch time. This stall displayed a range of stories written by students reflecting on their individual accounts and experiences in discovering their true authentic selves. 

Alongside these stories there was a photobooth for students to have their photo taken as well as cupcakes, cookies, and wristbands for sale. It was a great success with all baked items selling out within 20 minutes.
