Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features poems written by some of our Year 5 students; I trust you enjoy them just as much as I have:

Amelia:

Flowing through the fading sun,

A fire flickers in the crack of dawn,

Igniting through a field of flowers,

And growing in a flight of rain,

For everlasting the spirit grows,

A lurch of power,

And a zest of life,

A smile beams,

Two eyes glow,

A blinding brightness,

And shining light.

I look at her as a chapter book.

And watch as the pages unfold.

Sophie:

A springy tornado of pleasure,

A passion that picks up my sorrow.

She’s a happily ever after,

That externally sinks inside my mind.

She’s a bewildering living soul,

With talents that strike the living.

She’s young and goofy,

And that she will always be.

She’s a flame that will never go out,

The door that leads to my happiness,

A wire that’s ecstatic,

She lights my mode effortlessly.

She’s my friend that twinkles and glows like the star,

Or maybe the ocean that gently flows,

Maybe even the storm that likes to go around,

She’s the person that everyone knows.

I can see shiny pearls under the ocean,

I can see Gold up in the mountains,

But those treasures do not mean as much,

As your friendship to me.
