In Term Three, Level 3 students have been exploring functional writing.

 

At the beginning of the unit, students began by unpacking the types of functional writing and the purpose behind them. They analysed different forms of functional writing, delving into the type of language used, format and tone. 

 

Then, parents wrote letters addressed to their children. The learners analysed the letters and began drafting and publishing their letter in response to their parents. This was such a valuable and authentic experience for the students.
