Around the School
Live 4 Life
Alisha, Lilly and Hayley had the opportunity to public speak at the Live4Life partnership meeting by introducing themselves and highlight why they joined the Live4Life Youth Group and their achievements. They got to respond with a word to best describe their achievements using Wordle. Alannah Sander introduced Crew4Life program which follows on from the Live4Life Program. The Live4Life crew have organised a local community mental health competition and posters have been placed around the school. Headspace Hamilton will open in December to support local youth mental health.
Brophy are seeking Southern Grampians Shire Council young people (aged 16-25) to join the Headspace Youth Reference Group who care about youth mental health and want to have a say in how it delivers its services. To express interest, visit brophy.org.au or contact Rowena Brinkmann at rbrinkmann@brophy.org.au
Coleraine Field and Game – Tahara
14 students, some experienced at Field and Game and some new to competition, ventured to Tahara Recreation Reserve on a very cold but sunny day. Over 200 competitors from 10 schools competed in the event that provided some very challenging shooting. Students shot 18 in the first round; 3 at each trap and then 12 in the second round.
Congratulations to Jonte Dark, Archie McKay, Coby Rice, Archie Coates, Stephen Bevis, Sam Barnes, Mitchell McKay, Liam Tonissen, Dash Hogan, Leegan Hura, Jorja Rundell, Jaxon Morgan, Vinny Cameron and Darcy Eats for representing the school. The school values were evident throughout the day.
Liam Tonissen was defeated by the narrowest of margins in a shoot off for 2nd, finishing 3rd in the Under 15 Boys.
The next shooting is: Noorat Down the Line on Thursday 24th August
