Walton House News

Dear Parents, Carers, Family and Students, Hello Walton! I hope you’ve all had a great Term 3 so far. It has been busy and cold, but also really productive and successful already. We had our student led conferences last Wednesday which was wonderful, it was great to see all of our wonderful families and school staff connecting and working together to support all of the students. We have completed course counselling for 2024, with almost all students attending their booked meeting. We had so many rich and important conversations with students and families about their future pathways, it was great to see students take control of their education and be guided to thoughtfully pick subjects that will assist in their futures, but also subjects that will bring them joy in the present!

HP’s got Talent!

A reminder that this term HPSC is hosting a talent show! If your child has a special skill or talent, please encourage them to sign up at Walton house!!! If we win the talent show, we win 500 points that go towards winning the house cup!

Book Week

Next week is Book Week! We have so many fun and exciting events on every day, with loads of house points on offer. On Thursday the 24th August we are hosting a Free Dress Day where students are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite fictional character! At lunchtime, we will have a cat walk competition where we will get to see all the amazing costumes – students who have put in  a lot of effort will get house points + a book prize!! Please bring a gold coin donation – all proceeds will go towards funding the 4cs!

Values Nominations and House Points

Last Friday the Walton team saw 60 values nominations awarded to students in one single day. This is a Walton RECORD and we were so proud to see so many of our wonderful students achieving such success in their learning. Keep it up, Walton!

Reading House Points

In 2022 Walton came in first in the House Reading Challenge. We are trailing behind this year, but we have a semester to catch up! So please, if you’ve read a book recently, please write up a review, send it to Mr Shinkfield and you’ll score 50 house points and go in the running to receive a book prize at the end of the year!

Uniform

A reminder that all students are expected to be in full school uniform. This means the academic uniform, or the sports uniform. Students can’t mix and match the academic and sports uniform. A reminder that as we head into winter, hoodies are not permitted nor are puffer jackets. Please ensure you contact Walton for support if you require assistance in obtaining a uniform. As a whole, the uniform at HPSC has been looking amazing. Let’s keep it up!

Attendance and lates

Attendance has improved so much since last year, well done to all students and families for prioritizing attendance. Please continue to let us know the reason for an absence if it occurs. At HSPC we want students to be having access to as much learning time as possible, so please remember to come on time, all the time 😊

Thank you

Walton Team!
