Movie Nights

Movie nights were again a big success with lots of excited kids enjoying the chance to watch movies at school with their friends. A huge thank you to the parent helpers who made the sessions so much fun for the kids - we couldn’t have run the nights without you. Also to Baz from Mountain View Garlic for the apples that were gobbled up very quickly on both nights.

 

Father’s Day Brekky - Thank you!

It was great to see so many dads enjoying a bacon and egg roll, a coffee and a chat before school last week at our Father's Day brekky. A big thank you to Adam our BBQ Chef, Rafael's Coffee, and all the parent volunteers. Thank you also to Josh’s Rainbow Eggs for their very generous donation. 

Referendum Voting 14th October - Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall

Woodend PS will be an AEC polling booth for the Voice Referendum on Saturday 14th October 2023, which is a great opportunity to sell some snags and cakes! All funds raised will go back to our school. 

We would love: 

  • Helpers for the BBQ and Cake Stall - plenty of short shifts available. Signup link here: Referendum helpers
  • Donations of baked goods, preserves, produce and flowers.  Donations can be dropped off on Friday 13th Oct between 3.00- 3.30pm, or on Saturday morning to the Canteen.

Upcoming Vote - Communications Officer and Class Rep Liaison positions

The PFA are looking to fill two roles in Term 4, allowing for a full handover and support til the end of ’23. The Class Rep Liaison supports the Class Reps in the running of the Parent WhatsApp Groups. The Communications Officer assists the PFA with writing the newsletter page and notifying our community about upcoming events/fundraisers. If you are interested in either of these roles, please get in touch with Monique autumn@iinet.net.au for a chat about what is involved, and how you can provide valuable help to our school parent community! Elections for these roles will be held at the next PFA Meeting on the 3rd of October.

  • Democracy Sausage Sizzle / Cake Stall - 14th October
  • Student Disco - Term 4
  • PFA Meetings: 3rd October, 31st October, 5th December. Various locations - 7 for 7.30pm. Everyone is very welcome! Email wpspfa@gmail.com for the month’s meeting location.

New Families to Woodend Primary School

Are you new to Woodend Primary School? Did you know we have a Parent Class Contact List and WhatsApp groups for each class, moderated by a volunteer parent Class Representative. These groups enable families to connect and share information with each other, as well distribute reminders from time to time.
