The Weekly Edit

My favourite part of stitching this newsletter together is catching up with students and staff and hearing about all of the wonderful things going on in our school community.  This week in student news I talk to Year 10 student Alex K who recently returned from the Kimberley as part of the Future Maker's extension program.  The pictures he showed me and the amazing experiences he spoke of - from catching and eating emu to swimming with 'kuarnia' 🐊in caves and being welcomed into a 'skin group' definitely made it sound like a journey he will remember forever.  In student news we also welcome Year 9 student Evie N making her reporting debut by interviewing fellow year 9 student and rising footy star Carmela P.

In Class News you can read about what's been happening in the Year 9/10 School Nurse Program.  Adolescent Health Nurse Rosemary Bunge who runs this class uses the inspirational Jim Rohn quote - "Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live".

We also have some great pics of our Year 11 media class working on their music videos.

We surveyed students on what magazines they wanted in the library and we are now trialling a range of new mags to suit all tastes - mountain bikes, dirt bikes, music, art, craft, teen life...to name a few.  I've already been chided for not including a recipe mag....so...stay tuned for next month's selections..!  Any suggestions - let me know!

This is the last week of term - and a busy one for many, including our Year 12 students who are taking part in a week of practice exams.  This Thursday is RU Ok? Day and School Captains Ellie and Callum have included a write-up on this and are encouraging everyone to wear a yellow ribbon on Thursday in support of this worthy cause.

Please also note that students who need any wellbeing support during the holidays can still access it -  social worker Mel Ivone will continue to work her normal times over the holidays.  See our wellbeing page for more details.

Enjoy the last week of term and have a wonderful 2 week break!
