Explaining Student Absences – Working Together for Student Success

Regular school attendance plays an important role in supporting student learning, wellbeing and connection to school. If your child is absent, families are reminded to provide an explanation for the absence as soon as possible and within 7 days of the absence. Promptly explaining absences helps us maintain accurate attendance records, meet Department requirements and ensure we can provide support where needed.

Absences can be explained through the school bytes, responding to the message sent to you about your child being away or by contacting the school office. Thank you for partnering with us to promote strong attendance habits and support every child to engage, learn and thrive at school.
