Our year 10's are currently doing work experience and that plays a crucial role in helping young people become career‑ready. Research shows that young people need at least nine meaningful career touchpoints - experiences such as workplace visits, mentoring, hands‑on training, and industry exposure, to confidently step into employment.

Discover ACU – Melbourne Campus Events
Discover ACU is designed to give you an exciting first taste of specific disciplines, with an opportunity to speak with current ACU students to find out what life is like in your study area.
Explore the campus and its facilities, take part in various workshops, talk to current students, and experience life as an ACU student.

Experience La Trobe Melbourne
Experience La Trobe is back these June-July school holidays! This is a chance to visit and explore the Bundoora Campus, get hands-on with their study areas and become familiar with Uni life.
Students will have the option to choose a workshop relevant to their area of interest. Details of these workshops can be found on the registration page.

Monash Business Explorer
Business Explorer gives you hands-on experience in the world of business. Through interactive games, quizzes and case studies, you get to discover the world of start-ups, brands, stock markets and more!
VCE students have the option to choose three taster sessions in accounting, banking and finance, economics, analytics, entrepreneurship, management, and marketing to experience on the day.

Monash Fine Art, Design and Architecture Experience Days
Gain a better understanding of different art mediums, design thinking approaches, and architecture studios through our hands-on experience days at the Monash Caulfield campus. Students will find out what it's like to be a student for a day, meet the university staff and explore the workshop spaces Monash students get to work in.

RMIT: Tech & Trades Day
Explore next-level workshops at RMIT's Tech and Trades Experience Day in the July school holidays. Walk in the shoes of a student for a day and experience what it's like to learn an IT, tech, or trade course.
Experience RMIT first-hand with practical tasters from its tech and trades courses. On the day, students will enjoy:
• In-person workshops led by RMIT teachers, using the same tools and facilities our students train with
• Opportunities to chat with teachers and current students and ask questions about studying at RMIT
• Catered lunch, with options to suit all dietary requirements
• Fun prizes and giveaways along the way

University of Melbourne – A Day at Melbourne Event
An immersive campus experience for secondary students. Students will have the
opportunity to experience university life firsthand through faculty-led sessions, hands-on activities, current student panels and more.

University of Melbourne – Jazz & Improvisation Winter Camp 2026 The University of Melbourne is inviting high school aged instrumentalists and vocalists in Years 9-12 to spend a week on campus and explore the world of Jazz and Improvisation.
Participants will meet like-minded musicians and develop their playing, skill set and creativity when approaching Jazz music and exploring Improvisation. The week of tuition is supported by a range of staff from the Jazz and Improvisation department at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Participants will engage in instrument/voice specific workshops, small ensemble playing, group singing, group rhythm/drumming, tools for improvisation, listening sessions.
The final afternoon will feature an informal concert of small ensemble performances to celebrate the week.

Whitehouse Institute of Design Workshops
Whitehouse Institute of Design is running a couple of workshops over the holidays. Students interested in fashion – whether it is creating garments, or fashion photography – might be keen on signing up for one of the following:
STUDIO LIGHTING AND FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
This is a hands-on 1-day workshop designed for aspiring photographers eager to learn the fundamentals of camera settings, studio lighting, and fashion photography.

FOUNDATIONAL SEWING WORKSHOP

Zoos Victoria Careers Expo 2026
Join Zoos Victoria experts for the 2026 Careers Expo at Melbourne Zoo. This event is recommended for students in Years 9-12 who are interested in exploring different careers in the world of wildlife, conservation, environment, animal welfare, and more.
Hear from expert panel speakers, including a diverse range of zoo specialists, who will share advice and insights into their career pathways.
