Dear Members of the Academy community,
As we find ourselves well into Term 2, it is pleasing to report that the term has been progressing smoothly across all year levels. Students and staff have settled into a productive rhythm and there is a palpable sense of energy and engagement throughout the College.
Celebrating Our Musical Success
I begin by acknowledging the outstanding success of our College musical production of Frozen Jr. The performances were nothing short of spectacular, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our students, staff and volunteers who brought this beloved story to life on stage. It was particularly wonderful to see how enthusiastically students from surrounding primary school embraced the production – their joy and excitement during performances reminded us all of the magic that live theatre can create. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this production such a memorable experience for our entire College community.
Approaching Examination Period
As we look forward, our senior students are preparing for the upcoming examination period. This is always an important time in our academic calendar, and I want to take this opportunity to wish all our students the very best as they prepare for and undertake their exams. To our families, I encourage you to support your children by helping them maintain good study routines, ensuring they get adequate rest and reminding them that their effort and preparation matter more than perfect results.
Our teaching staff have been working diligently to provide students with revision opportunities and examination guidance.
A Busy Term Ahead
The remainder of Term 2 promises to be exceptionally busy, filled with learning opportunities and community engagement. We have several exciting initiatives planned that will further enrich our students' educational experience and strengthen our connection with the broader community.
Community Action and VCE Retreat Days
Our commitment to developing well-rounded, socially conscious young people continues through the Year 10 Community Action week. This initiative provides our Year 10 students with valuable opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society while developing leadership skills and civic responsibility.
Looking Forward
During the remainder of Term 2, I am confident that our College community will maintain the positive momentum that has been established. The dedication of our students, the professionalism of our staff and the ongoing support of our families create an environment where everyone can thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Together, we are building a strong foundation for our students' future success.
Pentecost
Next Sunday sees the celebration of Pentecost where the Church celebrates the coming of the Spirit - the outpouring of the sudden power of God to transform a wounded and disillusioned band of stragglers into a community that changed the world. God's power is potentially overwhelming, like the natural forces of wind, fire, storm and flood. It is power to break down what is corrupt in the world's patterns of thought and dominance. But the Spirit is also seen as the breath of love, the giver of life, the remaker of community, the waker of the oppressed, the one who sings in the hearts of the poor.
May the Spirit of God transform and empower our lives.
Wind of God, blow across the barriers that divide us. Carry seeds of freedom and truth to new soil. Blow away the blinkers that keep us focused on past violence. Reveal the new future you have in mind.
Fire of God, burn in hearts where oppression chains, where poverty devalues humanity, where hunger weakens the spirit. Burn like Moses' bush—do not let them be destroyed.
Tongue of God, speak so all peoples can hear you. Speak peace where nations meet, justice where ideas clash, mercy where power reigns, healing where minds and bodies hurt, and love where churches seek unity.

Every Blessing,
