Melbourne Museum and IMAX

On Wednesday the 28th of May all the grade 4s went on an excursion to the Melbourne Museum to learn about The Story of Earth and rocks. After a 45-minute drive and a15-min walk, we were in the IMAX Cinema, and we all had smiles on our faces, ready to watch our movie.

The movie was called The Story of Earth. It was about how the earth was created. The movie was fascinating, and it was all true. Plus, we had 3D glasses – it was cool! We learnt a lot and we moved on to the next stage of our excursion, but before we went, we had a snack. We all sat outside the Museum eating our yummy snacks.

After snack, we all split into groups. The first exhibit we visited was the Rocks Exhibit and Minerals Room. In that exhibit we saw glow in the dark rocks and gold. We went to the Dinosaur Bones exhibit and there were a lot of cool fossils, like the big triceratops that won the Exhibit of the Year!

Then we went to the Bugs Alive exhibit. It was creepy because the spiders were alive and there was a room with 12 spiders that had no glass around it!  We looked at different types of ants and insects.

The next stage was to go to the outside exhibit, the Forest Gallery Walk. First, we went down into a cave, and we saw a tank with lots of fish. After this, we went out of the cave and saw some frogs, lizards and spiders.

We had a fantastic time on our excursion!
