Fire Safety Education Visit 

There has been plenty of firefighter action this term! The Preps are loving their Fire Safety unit and have enjoyed two firefighter visits. Through the Fire Ed program, FRV encourages a partnership between local firefighters and primary schools in Victoria.   

Last week, the Preps had their second visit with the firefighters and the anticipated Fire Truck! 

Simultaneous Story Time 

Congratulations to our junior students who took part in ‘National Simultaneous Story Time’ last Wednesday. Our St Joseph’s students joined 2,204,658 students from across the country in a shared reading of ‘The Truck Cat’ by Deborah Frankel and Danny Snell.

 This national event is aimed at promoting a love of reading and a shared experience across the country. Our students listened to the story as a Junior Team and completed a fun craft activity.

The Truck Cat - Story Introduction 

Some cats are house cats. Some cats are apartment cats. But Tinka is a truck cat. Tinka lives everywhere. 

Along with his human, Yacoub, Tinka travels wide and narrow, near and distant. But no matter how much they travel, home feels very far away - for both of them. Yacoub drives his truck to make a living, learning the landscape of a new country along the way, and longing for connection. When Tinka and Yacoub are unexpectedly separated, they are determined to find their way back to each other - and in doing so, might find more than they expected.
