Year 9 Jade Lewis Presentation

On Wednesday, 28 May students participated in an engaging and insightful presentation by Jade Lewis on the topic of Respectful Relationships. The session focused on empowering students with the knowledge and skills to build healthy, respectful, and safe relationships in all areas of life.

Key topics included the roles of upstanders, bystanders, and bullies, the importance of respect and personal boundaries, and how to identify healthy versus unhealthy relationships. Jade also explored the influence of media, the power of effective communication, and the value of self-worth and identity in shaping positive interactions.

Students were given practical advice on how to help a friend and how to ask for help when facing challenges. We also looked into issues of the future that may disarm our relationships. This included critical issues such as consent, sexting, sextortion, deepfake AI, coercive control, and relevant laws and protective measures.

The presentation was well-received, with students appreciating the open, respectful approach to complex topics. Jade’s message encouraged thoughtful reflection and empowered students to make informed, respectful choices in their relationships.

We thank Jade Lewis for her impactful contribution to our school community.
