Pentecost

Next Sunday 8th June is Pentecost Sunday, one of the most important feasts in the Catholic calendar. Pentecost marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles, fifty days after Easter. With tongues of fire resting on them, they were filled with courage and spoke in different languages—so that people from every nation could understand the message of God’s love.

Pentecost is often called the “birthday of the Church” because it was the beginning of the apostles’ mission to share the Good News with the whole world. It reminds us that the Church is for everyone, no matter their background, language, or culture. The Holy Spirit unites us in our faith, encouraging us to live out Jesus’ teachings with joy, love, and courage.

Today, Pentecost continues to speak to our lives. In a world that can sometimes feel divided, this celebration reminds us that we are all part of one family, guided by the same Spirit.

Pentecost Celebration

We will be celebrating Pentecost this year as a school community on Thursday 5th of June. We will commence the day by attending the Parish Mass at 9:15am and you are all welcome to join us for this Mass.

Parents and friends are then invited to come and join us in the afternoon from 2:25pm to 3:25pm for Pentecost activities in the classrooms and afternoon tea.

We look forward to sharing this special feast day with you.
