Year 5/6 Incursion - Earth's Place in Space
On Tuesday the 27th of May we had an incursion for our Science Unit: Earth's Place in Space. We all went into the Arts Centre where we entered an enormous dome and sat down full of excitement! It was pitch black but then the instructor turned on a projector that filled up the dome with the Solar System.
We learnt lots of things, including that there are different layers of the sun like the Chromosphere. We also learnt about how the amount of sun light changes depending on the season, like in winter the days are very short while in summer the days are very long. Another interesting fact was the brightest star in the solar system is called Sirius. It was lots of fun and very interesting!
