Our Year 6 students have been hard at work in their latest French unit, "Les Recettes." This term, they delved into the world of French cuisine, learning how to make delicious crêpes. We were thrilled to have professional chefs from the company "Whipped Up" visit our school to guide the students through the process. The excitement was palpable as the chefs demonstrated the art of making crêpes, and the students eagerly followed along, perfecting their own batches. The best part? Enjoying their tasty creations! The experience not only gave them hands-on cooking skills but also a deeper appreciation for French culture.
Our Year 5 students embarked on a fascinating journey across France through their recent research project. Each student selected a different region of France to study, diving into the unique aspects that make each region special. As part of their project, they translated a French text about their chosen region into English, honing their language skills. They then brought their research to life by creating vibrant posters that showcased the culture, landmarks, and history of their regions.
In Year 2, the focus has been on learning about colours and emotions in French. Our young learners have been busy exploring how to express different feelings through the French language. They created "feelings posters" where they illustrated and labelled various emotions such as "heureux" (happy), "triste" (sad), "surpris" (surprised), and "fâché" (angry). These posters are a wonderful display of their creativity.
