Grade 3-6: 

Reading:

Both the Grade 4/5A classroom and 5/6A classroom have been continuing their study of the book ‘Wonder’ which is written by Raquel Jaramillo Palacio. The students have really enjoyed reading this book and it has been great to see the students get excited about reading more pages of this amazing novel. Both classes have had great discussions regarding the characters and themes in the book. The Grade 3/4A classroom have been enjoying their study of the book “The 13-Storey Treehouse” which is written by Andy Griffiths. The students have really been enjoying the book so far and are really enjoying having discussions about this novel with their classmates.

 

Writing:

The Grade 3 – 6 students have been learning about how to write a recount during Writing lessons the past few weeks. The students have begun writing their very own recounts and have been able to learn a lot about what the structure of a “Recount” is, and how to add descriptive vocabulary in their writing. Some students have begun writing a “Factual” recount writing piece and are excited to write a “Personal” recount next week.

 

 

Maths:

The senior module has thoroughly enjoyed their learning of the Multiplication and Division topic and were able to include themselves in a whole range of learning activities. The students should be extremely proud of how hard they have worked during this recent topic for Maths. The students have begun working on the topic “Chance” and have really enjoyed working in teams completing a variety of Maths activities.

 

School Athletics Carnival (Thursday the 29th of August):

On Thursday the 29th of August, the whole school competed in the annual School Athletics Carnival out on the Oval. This was an amazing day and we appreciate all the hard work Mr Elliot put in when planning this day for the whole school. The senior students had so much fun and it was great to see students cheering on and participating in all the events. 

 

The senior students thoroughly enjoyed competing in:

  • Shotput.
  • Discuss.
  • Long Jump.
  • Triple Jump
  • Hurdles.
  • 100 Metre Sprint.
  • 200 Metre Sprint.

Inquisitive Minds:

All students have really been enjoying their study of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Students have begun  learning about the 2024 Paris Paralympics Games and have been able to have some great discussions about these Olympic games.
