Book Week Parade (Assembly @ 9:05)
Our annual book character dress up parade is on Monday 26th August. Our School Assembly will move to the morning that day starting at 9:05am, followed by our parade. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate literature, and foster a love of reading in our students. Be as creative as you can, and we can’t wait to see our wonderful school filled with book characters coming to life and chatter about literature at this event. We will have free coffees from the coffee van available for the adults from 8:30am onwards.
Fathers Day Breakfast
We invite all of our fathers to come in and join us for a sausage sizzle breakfast from 8:30 - 9:30 am on Friday 30th August. (No cost, tea and coffee available).
Monster Raffle:
Raffle tickets are now available for our 'Rochester Primary School Monster Raffle'. Check out the great prizes up for grabs! Families are encouraged to collect a book to sell. These will be available for pick up from the office next week. All funds raised will go towards supporting students, programs and activities at our school.
Resilience Project
I am excited to announce that we, along with the other schools in Rochester will be part of the resilience project program being rolled out across our local area. The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools based on evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness. Through presentations, school curriculum, events, the App, and Wellbeing Journals, they share the benefits of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness, and easy ways to practise these in everyday life. We have staff, student and parent information presentations scheduled for week 9 of this term. The parent session will be held on Thursday the 12th September at 6:30 -8pm at the CVCC. All welcome.
District Athletics
Good luck to our grade 3/4 and 5/6 students who participate in the district Aths events in Echuca next Tuesday & Wednesday. Please note students are still expected at school if they are not attending these days. Please provide a signed note or contact your child's teacher so an alternate plan can be arranged.
