Principal's Message
NAPLAN
As a school we celebrate our student achievement in many ways, including the recent NAPLAN results. A significantly high proportion of our Year 3 and 5 students sit in the Exceeding and Strong proficiency levels across all learning areas. This continuing trend also shows that our students outperform those in similar schools, network schools and the state average. We are proud of our students and of the learning program that we offer at Mount View Primary School. Our teachers know their students and plan the learning to support, challenge and extend their skills and knowledge across all areas of the curriculum.
Book Week
The whole school came together for the annual Book Week parade which acknowledges and celebrates our love of reading. Students looked fabulous in their costumes and brought a lot of excitement and joy to our whole school parade. Many thanks to our students, families and staff for bringing this important event to life.
Events at MVPS
Thank you to all of those families who joined us last week for Science Week. It was special to have you in classrooms and learning alongside your children. I also want to thank our junior students, teachers, and families for a hugely successful Junior Cross Country event. This was an opportunity for students to challenge themselves and do their best in a fun and supportive environment. Thank you to our PE team for bringing it to life and to Mr Johnson for his coordination and leadership.
Many thanks to everyone who helped with Friday’s sausage sizzle- it was a great success and we could not have done it without parent support, ably led by Ms Sykes and Alice and Helen. Thanks also to our parents who ran the second hand uniform sales which is much appreciated as children are always in need of extra uniform. We are looking forward to the next time we can do it all again.
Parent Opinion Survey
Thanks you to those of you who have completed the Parent Opinion Survey. The survey is designed to assis schools in gaining an understanding of families' perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Please refer to the Compass notice to access the log in details noting that the survey is open until next Friday, 30 August.
