Careers Workshop

Ms Carla Panozzo

A group of Year 10, 11, and 12 students recently participated in an exciting mentorship program with the prestigious law firm MinterEllison, organized by the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN). This program provided students with the invaluable opportunity to explore career pathways, develop their strengths, and gain insights into the legal profession.

The mentorship program with MinterEllison has left a lasting impact on our Year 10, 11, and 12 students, offering them a unique chance to reflect on their future careers and personal growth. Throughout the program, students were encouraged to explore their strengths, values, and the many pathways available to them, even those beyond the legal profession.

One of the key takeaways for students was the realization that a career path doesn't have to be linear. Many students expressed how this insight gave them the confidence to embrace change and adapt their plans if necessary. They learned that it is okay to explore different options and that success can come from a variety of experiences, even those that may not directly align with their initial study choices.

Students also valued the importance of researching and asking questions before embarking on a career journey. This proactive approach will undoubtedly serve them well as they make future decisions, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for the challenges ahead. The mentorship program highlighted the significance of staying true to oneself and the power of surrounding oneself with supportive, knowledgeable individuals.

The mentors from MinterEllison played a crucial role in creating a welcoming and engaging environment, making the students feel comfortable and valued. The positive feedback from the students reflects the mentors' dedication and the strong connections formed during the program. Overall, this experience has not only expanded the students' understanding of potential career paths but also boosted their confidence in pursuing their aspirations.
