P - 6NAPLAN Results

From 13 - 25 March, students in Year 3 and 5 completed the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy. They demonstrate their knowledge across several learning areas as they completed a reading, writing, numeracy, spelling, and grammar and punctuation assessment. The results are in!

 

Year 3 

 

Reading – 51% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard. 

 

Writing – 65% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard.

 

Numeracy – 49% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard.

 

Spelling – 34% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard.

 

Grammar & Punctuation – 36% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard. 

 

It is important to note that these students missed a large portion of their Prep year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The growth this cohort has shown in the past six months is SIGNIFICANT and should be celebrated.

 

Year 5

 

Reading – 61% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard, equalling our network and similar schools. 

 

Writing – 60% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard, surpassing our network and similar schools.

 

Numeracy – 56% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard, surpassing our similar schools and just fractionally trailing behind our network schools by 2%.

 

Grammar & Punctuation – 55% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard, surpassing our network and similar schools.

 

Spelling – 49% of our students performed at a ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ standard; just fractionally trailing behind our network and similar schools by 3%.
