STEM

It's been a great term in STEM and students have been engaged in a variety of learning activities including exploring flight, completing simple experiments, cooking pizzas with home grown passata, baking saltbush seasoned wedges, completing a variety of engineering challenges, learning about frogs and making volcanoes! Well done to all the students for their enthusiasm and creativity over the term!

ART

This term has been very busy getting ready for the school Art Show. The students were very excited to be able to share their work for the wider community. Thank you to our families for supporting this event. 

Physical and Sport Education:

Another epic term of P.E, Sport and Events!

Students, staff and families continued to step it up this term supporting State Cross Country, Division-level Tee Ball, Basketball and Softball, Track and Field Championships (School, District and Division), Victorian and National Snowsports Championships, SSV Girls Australian Rules Football State Finals (we are State Champions!!!) and the ever-positive participation and engagement in weekly Physical Education sessions!

• Bellarine Division Girls Blast Cricket @ South Barwon Reserve: Friday 11th October.
• Western Metropolitan Region Track and Field Championships @ Keilor Park Athletics Track: Tuesday 22ndOctober. 
• P-3 Swimming @ Bellarine Aquatic Centre, Ocean Grove: 02/12 – 13/12 (5-day program).

MUSIC

This term has been a busy one for P-2 music. We have had a focus on learning some Indigenous Australian songs and learning about their deep meaning. The curriculum strand that we focused on was rehearsing and performing songs and working towards performing to an audience. 

GLOBAL STUDIES

For the Grade 3-6 students, learning about Spanish culture, language and geography has been fun! It was interesting to see so many similarities between French and Italian language, culture and geography too.  We are all looking forward to learning about First Nations culture and language next term and specifically Wadawurrung with a Smoking Ceremony to start the term.
