Fun in Scripted Drama

The Year 9 Drama (Scripted) class have been having fun designing costumes for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ characters. Students had just one double lesson to plan and assemble these fabulous costume pieces from recycled newspapers and masking tape. Student teacher Miss McKenna, Miss Jones and Mrs Quick were suitably impressed with what they were able to design.

This was a session where students discussed how costume can communicate clues about a character as well as how costume designers can create texture without impacting the actor's ability to function in their role. Whilst they were working with newspaper, students still needed to consider the structural integrity of their work.
