Years 1/2 Melbourne Zoo Excursion

To support our Inquiry learning this term, the Year 1 and 2 students braved an early start on Thursday 15 March to experience the Melbourne Zoo. Once there, they participated in an education session, where they came up close to two tortoises and became inquisitive explores in the zoo’s sensory garden. They were taught to be observant by not only looking down, but also up and all around, as well as using their senses of touch, smell and sight to discover new things. They learned about different habitats, felt different animal skins and shells and learned what happens to all the herbivores poo at the zoo. There were lots of excited students making their way around the zoo discovering all the different animals.
