Week 4 - Sunday's Gospel John 13:31-35

"My little children,

I shall not be with you much longer.

I give you a new commandment:

Love one another!

Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another."

As Jesus prepared to leave His disciples, He gave them a simple, but powerful command: “Love one another, just as I have loved you.”

Jesus showed us what true love looks like—humble, selfless and sacrificial. He didn’t just say it; He lived it, all the way to the cross. This love is the heart of the gospel. When we receive His love, we are called to share it—with grace, patience and kindness. It’s how the world will see Him in us.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day Mass

Last Wednesday we celebrated our Grandparents and Special Friends Day mass, with so many visitors it was such a delight to see. Our students were all able to sit with their families and friends throughout the mass to listen to the Word of God and share the Eucharistic prayer with them. It was also a special mass as our Year 4 students received the Eucharist for the first time at school, since the sacrament was first celebrated a few weeks ago. We give thanks to our Grandparents and special friends in our lives who are there for us with unconditional love and support. We treasure the relationships we have with them and pray to God to give thanks for these loved ones in our lives.

Congratulations to our students who were Baptised

This weekend, some families celebrated a joyful and sacred moment as three of our students received the sacrament of Baptism at St John’s Church, celebrated by Father Dispin. Throughout the ceremony, the students were guided through the rich symbolism of this holy rite. Father Dispin explained that the water symbolized cleansing and new beginnings, the Chrism oil marked the sealing of the Holy Spirit, and the white garments and stoles represented the purity and new life found in Christ. Surrounded by their Godparents—who pledged to walk with them in faith—each student had a lit baptismal candle, its flame taken from the Church’s Paschal candle, a sign of their call to shine as a light in the world. It was a very special celebration of faith, commitment, and the start of a lifelong journey with God. Congratulations to Stella B, Stella V and Chloe.
