'A Welcoming Community Leading the Future of Learning with Faith and Love'

A Message from the Principal

Families are the most important part of a child’s life. A loving, supportive family helps to create confident, resilient and successful children. A strong relationship with parents and guardians is key to their development and wellbeing. That's why at St John's we work closely with our families, building strong partnerships, to ensure the full flourishing of every student. Over the past few weeks we have celebrated our families with our Mother's Day, Grandparents and Special visitors events. These days of celebration build that sense of joy and unity for everyone, filling us with happiness and love. Building positive family relationships across our community helps everyone to feel supported and a sense of belonging.

ECSI Surveys

Thankyou to the families who were able to complete the Catholic Identity surveys for our school. This will give us valuable data about our Catholic Identity of the school. The families names were put into a draw and the thankyou voucher goes to the Plant Family.

Australia's Best Teachers are Here at St John's

We are proud of the hardworking and dedicated teachers that we have here at St John's Mitcham. Each and every one of them goes above and beyond with the support, planning, preparation and care that they give to all of their students. I ask that you take the time to nominate one or all of our teachers for an award as Australia's Best Teacher. https://www.australiasbestteacher.com.au/

We want to recognise and celebrate our exceptional teachers at St John's Mitcham and the profound impact they have in inspiring your child's learning, their growing minds and developing their full potential.

School Closure Days

This is a reminder that we are having a School Closure Day on Monday, 26 May for Staff Professional Development in Literacy and the Vision of Instruction.

The School will also be closed for the long weekend on Monday, 9 June for the King's Birthday.

Totally Swift - Concert Tickets

Congratulations to the Stutchbury family who won the prize of Free tickets to the Totally Swift Concert on the weekend. I hear that Vickie had just as much fun dancing and singing at The Round as her daughter Allegra did.

It will be exciting to have the whole school performing at the Round in a few weeks.

Jokes

Q: Why did the music teacher need a ladder?

A: To reach the high notes 🎵🎶

May you have a lovely week ahead, stay warm and please let me know if I can assist you or your family in any way.
