Snapshots from the week

ANZAC Day Ceremony at Balmoral State High School

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning as we paused to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans, both past and present. Today’s ANZAC Day ceremony was a powerful reminder of the courage, mateship and resilience that define the Australian and New Zealand spirit.

To our guest speakers, special guests, students, and staff who contributed to this morning’s service – thank you for helping create a respectful and meaningful commemoration. Your efforts ensured that we not only remembered but reflected.

As we return to our day, let us carry forward the values of the ANZACs in our actions and in our school community.

LEST WE FORGET.

Stories Told distributed to students!

Last year, our Year 10 students embarked on their first journey into Literature at Balmoral, culminating in a powerful reimagining of Kazuo Ishiguro’s dystopian teen drama Never Let Me Go. Now as Year 11s, they were surprised with something special released this week — a beautifully printed keepsake book featuring each of their stories.

The final task challenged students to explore the haunting themes of identity, agency, and belonging, reworking Ishiguro’s world through their own voices and imagination. The result: a collection of poignant, disquieting, and deeply thoughtful short stories that we’re incredibly proud to preserve in print.

Well done, writers. Your words now live on.

House Spirit is on the rise!

🏃‍♂️💨 Cross Country is coming and house vibes are strong throughout Balmoral as students get ready to cheer on the house, friends and take part in a great day at BSHS!
