Restorative Practices

This week, we welcomed prospective families to our Information Night to learn about our school, sharing insights into the unique learning environment at St Mary’s. A focus of the evening was our commitment to restorative practices and how they form a vital part of our approach to teaching and learning.

We know that restorative practices are not just a strategy for managing conflict – they are embedded in everything we do. These practices are about building strong, respectful relationships, ensuring every student feels valued and connected, and creating a sense of belonging. This holistic approach is crucial for supporting the wellbeing and personal growth of every student, helping them develop the skills needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom. We were proud to showcase how restorative practices permeates through all we do, building key skills for all learners.

We highlighted that prioritising positive relationships and mutual respect, we create an environment where students can learn from their experiences, understand the impact of their actions, and develop empathy for others. This is how we nurture a truly 'well' community – one where each individual is supported to reach their full potential. .
